Texas Science — Grade 9 (Biology)
Comprehensive Course Syllabus
Course Overview
Our Texas Grade 9 Science (Biology) course is designed according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. The curriculum introduces students to the study of living organisms, genetics, evolution, ecosystems, human body systems, biotechnology, and scientific inquiry while preparing them for higher-level Biology, AP Biology, and STEM careers.
Students develop scientific reasoning, laboratory skills, data analysis, and critical thinking through experiments, investigations, and real-world biological applications.
Scientific Investigation
Scientific Method
Students learn how scientists investigate questions by forming hypotheses, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and drawing evidence-based conclusions.
Laboratory Safety
Students understand laboratory rules, safe handling of scientific equipment, measurement techniques, and proper experimental procedures.
Data Collection & Analysis
Students organize observations using graphs, charts, tables, and statistical tools to interpret scientific results accurately.
Engineering & Scientific Inquiry
Students apply scientific thinking and engineering design principles to solve real-world biological problems.
Cell Biology
