Texas Science — Grade 4
Comprehensive Course Syllabus
Course Overview
Our Texas Grade 4 Science course is designed according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. The curriculum helps students develop scientific thinking through observation, experimentation, engineering design, and real-world problem-solving.
Students explore life science, Earth and space science, physical science, energy, ecosystems, environmental conservation, and STEM concepts while strengthening analytical thinking and scientific inquiry.
Scientific Investigation & Engineering
Scientific Inquiry
Students learn how to ask scientific questions, form hypotheses, conduct investigations, collect evidence, and communicate conclusions.
Scientific Tools & Measurement
Students use laboratory tools such as rulers, thermometers, balances, graduated cylinders, hand lenses, and digital devices to make accurate observations.
Data Collection & Analysis
Students organize information using tables, charts, graphs, and diagrams while identifying patterns and drawing conclusions.
Engineering Design Process
Students design, build, test, evaluate, and improve simple engineering solutions to real-world challenges.
Life Science
Plant Systems
Students investigate plant structures, photosynthesis, reproduction, pollination, seed dispersal, and the importance of plants in ecosystems.
