Course Overview
Our Texas Grade 3 Social Studies course is designed according to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards. The curriculum introduces students to communities, geography, government, economics, history, citizenship, and cultural diversity while helping them understand how people, places, and events shape society.

Texas Symbols & Heritage
Students explore the Texas flag, state seal, Bluebonnet, Mockingbird, Longhorn, state motto, and other official symbols.
Texas Today
Students learn about Texas industries, agriculture, technology, energy, transportation, and the state's contribution to the U.S. economy.
Geography
Maps & Globes
Students strengthen map-reading skills using map keys, legends, compass roses, scales, and coordinate grids.
Landforms & Natural Resources
Students identify mountains, rivers, plains, deserts, forests, coastlines, and natural resources while understanding their importance.
Regions of Texas
Students explore the four major regions of Texas and compare their geography, climate, wildlife, and economic activities.
Weather & Climate
Students understand how weather and climate affect transportation, farming, housing, clothing, and everyday life.

Local Government
Students learn how mayors, city councils, and local governments provide services and solve community problems.
State & National Government
