Course Overview
Our Texas Grade 1 Hindi course is specially designed for children living in the United States who want to learn Hindi as a second or heritage language. The curriculum focuses on developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through interactive activities, stories, poems, games, and real-life conversations.
Students gradually build confidence in recognizing Hindi letters, reading simple words, forming sentences, and communicating in everyday situations while staying connected to Indian language and culture.
Hindi Alphabet (वर्णमाला)
स्वर (Vowels)
Students learn all Hindi vowels (अ to अः), their pronunciation, writing practice, and usage in simple words.
व्यंजन (Consonants)
Students identify Hindi consonants (क to ज्ञ), practice writing them correctly, and recognize them in everyday vocabulary.
अक्षर पहचान (Letter Recognition)
Students recognize Hindi letters quickly through flashcards, matching games, and picture-based activities.
मात्राओं का परिचय (Vowel Signs)
Students begin learning common matras such as ा, ि, ी, ु, ू, े, ै, ो, and ौ while reading simple words.
Reading Skills
Simple Hindi Words
Students read two-letter and three-letter Hindi words related to familiar objects, animals, fruits, vegetables, and family members.
Word Building
Students combine letters and matras to form new words and improve reading fluency.
Reading Short Sentences
Students practice reading short and meaningful Hindi sentences with correct pronunciation and expression.
Picture Reading
Students observe pictures and identify related Hindi words, improving vocabulary and comprehension.
Writing Skills

Students learn common Hindi words related to school, classroom objects, teachers, books, and learning materials.
Grammar Basics (व्याकरण)
संज्ञा (Nouns)
Students identify naming words such as people, places, animals, and things in Hindi.
सर्वनाम (Pronouns)
Students learn simple pronouns like मैं, तुम, वह, हम, and they use them correctly in sentences.
क्रिया (Verbs)
Students understand simple action words such as खाना, खेलना, पढ़ना, लिखना, and बोलना.
लिंग एवं वचन (Gender & Number)
Students receive an introduction to masculine/feminine words and singular/plural forms through simple examples.
Listening & Speaking
Everyday Conversations
Students practice greeting others, introducing themselves, asking simple questions, and responding confidently in Hindi.
Rhymes & Poems
Students recite popular Hindi poems and nursery rhymes to improve pronunciation, rhythm, and confidence.
