New York Hindi — Grade 12
Comprehensive Course Syllabus
Course Overview
Our New York Grade 12 Hindi course is the most advanced in the sequence, aimed at academic and professional proficiency. It opens with a language foundations review, then moves into advanced reading across literary, informational, biographical, and historical texts, and writing across nine distinct forms.
The grammar strand is complete: all eight parts of speech in Hindi terminology together with लिंग, वचन, पुरुष, कारक, काल, and वाच्य, followed by advanced verb usage, transitive and intransitive verbs, and sentence transformation. Vocabulary work covers synonyms, antonyms, polysemous words, and the tatsam, tadbhav, deshaj, and loanword classes, plus technical terminology.
Three modules develop the classical apparatus of Hindi study: idioms and proverbs, sandhi and samasa with word formation, and the figures of speech with language style and expression. The literature strand covers poetry with rasa, metre, imagery, and symbol; prose across story, essay, memoir, autobiography, biography, and travel writing; and drama with dialogue writing and stage performance.
The course closes with five essay types, creative writing, formal and official Hindi, academic research, two full translation modules, speaking, listening, presentation, debate, media and journalism, digital Hindi, literature and cultural heritage, comparative language study, and advanced editing, before professional communication and an integrated Hindi portfolio.

Why Choose NextChanakya for New York Grade 12 Hindi?
Standards Note
This syllabus is offered as an advanced Hindi language and cultural enrichment programme for students in New York, broadly informed by the New York State Learning Standards for World Languages, which describe expectations for communication, culture, and language proficiency rather than prescribing content for any particular language.
Hindi is not a mandatory subject in New York State schools. Schools and districts differ in which world languages they offer and at what level. Students seeking a New York State world language credential, including LOTE credit, a checkpoint examination, or a Seal of Biliteracy, should confirm requirements with their own school or district. This course is not an AP Hindi course, though it builds relevant foundations.
New York State does not prescribe a single Hindi textbook, curriculum sequence, pacing guide, or assessment system. This is not the only Grade 12 Hindi syllabus available, and other programmes may organise content differently.
Cultural content covering Indian festivals, arts, traditions, literature, and heritage is presented factually and inclusively as cultural and historical information, not devotionally, and reflects the diversity of communities across India and among Hindi speakers worldwide.
It is important to distinguish between the New York State World Languages Learning Standards and the Hindi course structure created for this educational programme, which organises language learning into a month-by-month teaching sequence.
