Comprehensive Course Syllabus
Course Overview
Our New Jersey Grade 4 Olympiad Studies course is an enrichment program designed to develop advanced mathematical reasoning, scientific thinking, logical reasoning, verbal ability, computational thinking, creativity, and competitive problem-solving skills.
The program builds on Grade 4 academic concepts while introducing students to Olympiad-style questions, non-routine problems, analytical puzzles, science challenges, coding problems, STEM activities, and mock competitions.
Mathematical Olympiad Foundations
Advanced Number Sense
Students strengthen their understanding of multi-digit numbers, place value, comparisons, rounding, and numerical relationships through challenging problems.
Multi-Digit Arithmetic
Students solve Olympiad-style addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems requiring accuracy and strategic thinking.
Estimation & Mental Mathematics
Students use estimation, mental calculations, and number relationships to solve problems efficiently and check whether answers are reasonable.
Number Patterns
Students identify numerical patterns, sequences, relationships, and rules and use them to predict missing values.
Number Puzzles
Students solve missing-number puzzles, operation puzzles, number riddles, and other non-routine mathematical challenges.

Students identify factors and factor pairs and use them to solve mathematical reasoning problems.

Students identify multiples and use patterns in multiples to solve problems efficiently.
Prime & Composite Numbers
Students classify whole numbers as prime or composite and use factor relationships in problem solving.
Divisibility Patterns
Students explore simple divisibility patterns and use them to determine whether numbers meet specific conditions.

Students compare fractions using benchmarks, visual models, common denominators, common numerators, and logical reasoning.

Students compare, order, represent, and apply decimals to hundredths in mathematical and real-world problems.
