Comprehensive Course Syllabus

Course Overview

California Grade 7 Hindi is an enrichment language program designed to develop students’ Hindi reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, and cultural understanding. Students progress toward reading longer and more complex Hindi texts, expressing ideas in organized written Hindi, participating in conversations, and understanding literary and cultural content.

Note: Hindi is not a mandatory California Grade 7 state subject. This course is designed as a Hindi language enrichment program and is intended to complement students’ broader language-learning development.

Hindi Reading & Comprehension

Topic 1.1

Advanced Word Reading

Students strengthen their ability to read longer and more complex Hindi words, including संयुक्त अक्षर and commonly used compound words.

Students practice reading Hindi passages smoothly, accurately, and with appropriate pronunciation and expression.

Students determine the meaning of unfamiliar words by using surrounding sentences and contextual clues.

Students strengthen their understanding and use of nouns and pronouns in different sentence contexts.

Students identify and use verbs and adverbs to describe actions, time, manner, and circumstances.
