Comprehensive Course Syllabus
Course Overview
Our California Grade 3 Hindi course is designed as an age-appropriate Hindi language enrichment program for students who want to develop stronger skills in Hindi reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, comprehension, and creative expression.
The course gradually moves students from basic Hindi communication toward reading longer passages, writing organized paragraphs, understanding grammar concepts, expressing ideas confidently, and appreciating Hindi stories and cultural traditions.
Hindi Reading & Fluency
Hindi Alphabet & Sound Review
Students review स्वर, व्यंजन, मात्रा, and common sound patterns to strengthen accurate Hindi pronunciation and reading.
संयुक्त अक्षर
Students learn to recognize and read commonly used संयुक्त अक्षर such as क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ, श्र and other frequently encountered letter combinations.
Word Recognition & Reading
Students practice reading increasingly longer Hindi words and develop the ability to recognize familiar words quickly and accurately.
Sentence Reading
Students read complete Hindi sentences with appropriate pronunciation, pauses, and understanding.
Reading Fluency
Students practice reading short stories, poems, dialogues, and informational passages with greater confidence and expression.
Hindi Vocabulary & Comprehension
Everyday Hindi Vocabulary
Students expand vocabulary related to family, school, home, nature, food, travel, hobbies, and everyday activities.
Describing People, Places & Things
Students learn vocabulary and sentence patterns for describing people, objects, animals, places, and everyday experiences.
Synonyms & Antonyms
Students learn commonly used पर्यायवाची and विलोम शब्द and practice using them in meaningful sentences.

Students identify the meanings of unfamiliar words using context, examples, and surrounding sentences.
Reading Comprehension
Students read short passages and answer questions about मुख्य विचार, महत्वपूर्ण विवरण, घटनाएँ, characters, and sequence.
कहानी का सार
Students learn to identify important events in a story and explain its main idea or summary using their own words.
Hindi Grammar & Sentence Building
संज्ञा
Students identify संज्ञा शब्द and understand how names of people, places, animals, objects, and ideas are used in sentences.
सर्वनाम
Students learn commonly used सर्वनाम and understand how pronouns replace nouns to make sentences clearer and less repetitive.
क्रिया
Students identify क्रिया शब्द and use appropriate action words to describe what people, animals, and objects do.
विशेषण
Students use विशेषण to describe people, objects, animals, places, and experiences with greater detail.
लिंग & वचन
Students practice identifying and using पुल्लिंग, स्त्रीलिंग, एकवचन, and बहुवचन correctly in sentences.
काल
Students receive an age-appropriate introduction to वर्तमान काल, भूतकाल, and भविष्य काल and practice using verbs in different time contexts.
Hindi Writing Skills
Sentence Writing
Students construct grammatically meaningful Hindi sentences using appropriate vocabulary, word order, and punctuation.
Paragraph Writing
Students learn to organize related ideas into short Hindi paragraphs with a clear beginning, supporting details, and conclusion.
Picture-Based Writing
Students observe pictures and write sentences or short paragraphs describing people, actions, places, and events.
Story Writing
Students create short stories using characters, events, descriptions, and a logical sequence of ideas.
Personal Experiences
Students write about familiar experiences such as school activities, family events, hobbies, trips, celebrations, and memorable moments.
Letter & Message Writing
Students learn simple formats for writing informal letters, invitations, greetings, notes, and short messages in Hindi.
Hindi Stories, Poems & Literature
Short Hindi Stories
Students read age-appropriate Hindi stories and develop comprehension through characters, events, vocabulary, and discussion.
Moral Stories
Students explore stories containing simple values and life lessons and learn to identify the message or सीख from each story.
Hindi Poems
Students read and recite age-appropriate Hindi poems while developing pronunciation, rhythm, vocabulary, and expression.
Characters & Story Events
Students describe characters, identify important events, and explain how events are connected within a story.
Creative Responses to Literature
Students respond to stories and poems through drawings, discussions, questions, retelling, and short written activities.
Listening, Speaking & Communication
Hindi Conversation
Students practice everyday Hindi conversations involving introductions, family, school, hobbies, routines, preferences, and common situations.
Listening Comprehension
Students listen to short stories, conversations, instructions, and descriptions and demonstrate understanding through questions and activities.
Asking & Answering Questions
Students practice asking and answering simple questions using complete and grammatically appropriate Hindi sentences.
Describing Experiences
Students learn to speak about personal experiences, people, places, activities, and events using connected sentences.
Oral Storytelling
Students retell familiar stories and create simple stories orally using appropriate sequence, vocabulary, and expression.
Hindi Presentation Skills
Students prepare short presentations on familiar topics and practice speaking clearly and confidently in Hindi.
Hindi Culture & Creative Language
Indian Festivals & Celebrations
Students learn about selected Indian festivals and celebrations and explore their traditions, stories, vocabulary, and cultural significance.
Indian Traditions & Family Life
Students explore age-appropriate aspects of Indian family traditions, food, clothing, customs, music, and everyday cultural practices.
Hindi Proverbs & Expressions
Students are introduced to simple हिंदी कहावतें and commonly used expressions and learn their meanings through examples.
Creative Vocabulary Activities
Students strengthen Hindi vocabulary through word games, riddles, matching activities, picture-based exercises, and creative challenges.
Hindi Creative Expression
Students express their ideas through poems, short stories, dialogues, descriptions, role-play, and other creative Hindi activities.
